JB’s Bio

Jason Bergman

A new media interactive expert with proven creative, product development, client service, and branding skills.

JBUpon receiving my Bachelor of Science Degree in Mass Communications from Emerson College in Boston, I began my professional career in the music industry while working in A&R at EMI Records Group in my native Hollywood, California. Working with such artists as Gang Starr, Arrested Development, Masters of Reality, Dionne Farris, Milla Jovovich, and others enabled me to establish a place in the business. Subsequently I acquired substantial personal management skills at Lippman Entertainment working with such artists as Bernie Taupin, PM Dawn, Terrence Trent D’Arby, Matchbox 20, and numerous producers. I then moved on to do A&R for MCA and nu.millennia|records. nu.millennia was a pioneer in the enhanced CD field and, during the company’s short-lived operation, I executive produced several of its enhanced CD’s as well as signed and A&R’d one of its first artist’s albums, 3 Penny Needle’s Brand New Worries. At the age of twenty six, and featured in Billboard and The Hollywood Reporter, I was one of the youngest A&R and Multimedia Executives in the music business.

Like many people, I recognized the potential impact of the internet upon the music industry and, when nu.millennia closed its doors, I shifted my primary efforts to the internet. While operating my own new media development company with an emphasis on music, film, and other entertainment related internet properties, I developed several dozen web sites working with such companies as: Sony Music, Polygram Music, ARTISTDirect, Eagle Pictures, and Workhorse Advertising. I continued to work with such established artists as: The Pharcyde, Sublime, Korn, and Marilyn Manson, building their official web properties. I have also had experience in the film industry, serving as Director of Acquisitions and Development for Two Worlds Communications, Inc., an L.A. based production and sub-licensing company. Since that time I have focused all my efforts back into new media by continuing my development & consulting practice and holding such positions as Project Administrator for  Disney Mobile at Disney Interactive Media Group and, most recently, Director of Account Management at Interactive Agency, PingWorx.

Currently, while looking for new opportunities and maintaining the helm of EXP Media, I continue to push the boundaries of new media and am highly focused on the progression of the web, mobile devices, interactive, and social media. I also continue to work with top clients in the interactive space leading teams of Web Producers & Account Managers. In addition to my management duties, I have also acted  as Account Director and Creative Director for various flagship websites including the award winning DreamWorksAnimation.com (awards include The Web Marketing Association’s 2008 Internet Advertising Award for “Best Entertainment Interactive application” and a 2008 WebAward for “Outstanding Achievement In Website Development”).
